I have a small business, a marketing and sales company in a niche market. We have been established for 20 years and as there are only 2 of, us and we are often very stretched with customers and their specific needs. We deal with both installers and DIY users across the country. Their needs varied a lot. Though we provided over 100 pages of technical information, on our web site and mailouts, covering almost every issue, there was always a lot of hands-on contact (phone, email or site visits)

This used up so much time were left with no energy or time to grow the business.

So, when ChatGPT came available 2 years ago, I leapt at the chance to see if we can make use of it to free up some time and energy.

The early uses were more for assisting the creative side and setting up the basics of more technical information. Both needed a lot of finesse to make doable and accurate, but it was a good start.  Confidence grew and it become a handy tool many a time.  Could not live without now.

And it never takes break or calls in sick or requires a salary. How good is this!

Forward thinking businesses are leaping into this asset as it makes so much sense and costs almost nothing. The investment – value equation cannot be beaten.  

We have been using it on a related business site (as per the beginning of this article) ourselves since 2024 and the results have been much enhanced. (Our traditional cost per sale off the web site has been $60 and with about a 30% success rate from enquiries) With this Chatbot enhancement we have increased the success rate by over 20% and customers can even ask the Chatbot technical questions and get immediate and accurate answers.  This frees up handling technical calls on the phone or email, and it’s now 24/7 even on the weekend. Fabulous! No more urgent weekend calls or after hour calls.
